Tucked away in Kyoto’s beautiful natural surroundings, DANMOME is a whole-house rental where you can enjoy both dining and accommodation by the warmth of a crackling fire. Lovingly crafted by the owner couple, this cozy space is perfect for creating special memories with family and friends. Relax in a room with a kotatsu (a low table with a heater underneath) or irori( Japanese hearth), both traditional features that bring warmth and comfort, and immerse yourself in the culture. You can also take part in hands-on workshops and savor delicious meals made with fresh local ingredients. As the property is fully booked by reservation only, we recommend making a reservation early.

Enjoy the Kotatsu! Relax in a Japanese-Modern Space

The house features three tatami rooms with unique designs. It can accommodate up to six guests, and you can sleep in your preferred room with futons laid out. During the colder seasons, enjoy the warmth of a kotatsu in one of the rooms and experience the cozy comfort unique to Japan. Relax and unwind, wrapped in the gentle warmth.

Delicious Rice Cooked in a Kamado! "Onigiri Making Experience"

Among the hands-on events, we highly recommend the "Onigiri Making Experience," where you can easily enjoy Japanese food culture! Using fluffy rice cooked in a traditional kamado, you can fill it with your favorite ingredients and shape it into onigiri. Why not try making the globally loved onigiri right here in Japan?

Weekend-Only! Special Lunch Plate at the Crackling Fire  Café

Available only on weekends, this limited-quantity lunch plate is a must-try! It features a salad made with plenty of seasonal vegetables from Kyoto's Kyotamba region, and tender meat marinated in homemade koji(fermented rice used in traditional Japanese cooking). There are also homemade desserts and carefully crafted coffee, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing café time.

Evenings by the Irori: Savor Kyoto’s Flavors

At night, gather around the irori (traditional Japanese hearth) and enjoy Kyoto’s fresh nama-fu (steamed wheat gluten) and dried fish from the Sea of Japan, grilled to perfection. Local sake from Kyotamba is also available, allowing you to unwind and experience the charm of Japan while enjoying a peaceful evening.
